Ruby-Grace Miller found an interest in historical fashion at the age of 10, with an historical costuming book. Miller has a Shakespearean theater background, excelling in dramatic and vocal performance, and as well as historic costume creation. Her now extensive research and work spans the 1600s through the 1920s. She studies original antique garments and accessories, utilizes proper fabrics for the period and for the status of the wearer, along with proper construction for each unique period. In addition to creating custom bespoke garments for private clients, she has completed several museum installations and exhibits, and routinely gives lively educational talks and living histories about historical garments and their context in society of the day. Ruby-Grace also loves sharing her craft with others through seminars, classes and one-on-one lessons. She is also a member of The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, which is devoted to the preservation and restoration of antiques, including garments and historical artifacts.
